My name is Corrado Guarino Lo Bianco and I am a professor of Industrial Robotics at the University of Parma.
Walking in each and every way is one of the most important of my many passions: from daily moving about on foot, to covering long distances over several days. On this site I intend to report my walking experiences along the tratturos of my peninsula with the aim of promoting them. Therefore you will not find stories related to any other route which I walked in the past.
Currently, the site features accounts from 2013, 2019, and 2022 on the Tratturo Celano-Foggia, the 2017 journey along the Tratturo Castel di Sangro-Lucera, the 2018 trek on the Tratturo Pescasseroli-Candela, and the 2024 experience from Foggia to L'Aquila along the Tratturo Centurelle-Montesecco. In the future, I hope to add more stories from upcoming journeys.
The acquired GPS tracks, together with possible alternatives, can be directly downloaded from an apposite page of the site. For bikers: bear in mind that I'm a walker, so that stages have been travelled on foot. Many segments are not suited for bicycles (not even for Mountain Bikes), because of slopes, soil status, or presence of vegetation. If someone sends me alternative tracks suited for bicycles, I would be happy to publish them in the apposite section of the site.
